In Wallingford, Dec. 2, 2005, Helen Smith Alling, 96. Wife of the late Frederick H. Alling. Born in New Haven on Jan. 16, 1909, a daughter of the late Clarence and Esther Swenson Smith. Mother of Beverly A. Jackson and her husband Victor of Pharr, TX and Frederick H. Alling, Jr. of Sacramento, CA, grandmother of Susan J. Sprowson of Bethany, CT and Gary Jackson of Hamden, CT. Also survived by three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one sister and two brothers. A life long resident of Hamden, Helen was employed by The First New Haven National Bank for 15 years. She was a member of Whitneyville United Church of Christ and Alice Chapter 76, O.E.S., . Arrangements in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. There are no scheduled calling hours.
