Meriden - Helen M. Behnke, 90, formerly of 1244 No. Broad Street, died Thursday April 26, 2007 at the St. Elizabeth Center at the Curtis Home. She was the wife of the late Harold W. Behnke. She was born in Meriden March 13, 1917, a daughter of the late Harry and Jessie Fitzsimmons Wright. She had been the store manager at Courtesy Cosmetics. Helen had been an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church and enjoyed knitting, bowling and singing. She is survived by two sons Richard and his wife Connie Behnke of Durham, CT, and David and his wife Gladys Behnke of Clinton, CT, two grandchildren Christine Behnke-Le of Boston and David Behnke of Middletown, and one great-grandson, Zachary Le of Boston. She was predeceased by a sister Katherine Cari, five brothers Gordon Wright, Jonathan Wright, Alton Wright, Frederick Wright and Harry Wright. A funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
