Helen Frances Ivey, 102, wife of the late Warren Ivey, passed away on August 18, 2026 at Midstate Medical Center. Born on May 7, 1924 to the late Franklin and Mildred Fowler Wilson.
Helen lived most of her life in Hamden, was a member of Spring Glen Church, the Spring Glen Garden Club, and the High Lane Club. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting. Most of her career was spent at Yale University in different departments, such as the statistics department and then as assistant to the Dean of Trumbull College.
Helen will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses, Dana and Elizabeth Ivey and Lynda and Robert Bigler; grandchildren, Sheryl Porter and Scott Bigler; and great-grandchildren, Edwin, Maxwell, and Gwendolyn Porter and Alexandros Bigler. Predeceased by her sisters, Mildred Stevens and Ruth Colbourn.
Friends are invited to visit with her family on Wednesday, August 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, followed by a Funeral Service celebrating Helen's life at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Centerville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, feel free to donate to a charity of your choice in Helen's name.
