Obituary

Holcombe, Henry R. In Bridgeport, July 24, 2007, Henry R. Holcombe of Stratford, formerly of Orange, husband of the late Edythe Oliver Holcombe. Born in Hamden, Sept. 5, 1916, a son of the late Alfred C. and Louise Christoff Holcombe. He retired as Superintendent in 1979, after 42 years with the U.S. Steel Corp. A Past President of the Orange Congregational Church Men's Club, he was a past President of the Wurlitzer Organ Guild of New Haven and a Charter Member of the Orange Lodge # 143 A.F. & A.M. He was predeceased by brothers: Alfred, Luther and Lester Holcombe. He is survived by nieces: the late Carole Norman and her husband Donald, Joan Gilmore, nephews: Gary and Terry Holcombe and many great nieces and nephews. Also survived by his friend Paul Kaiser and caregiver of many years Renate Sigrist and her family of Shelton. Funeral service at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Sat., July 28th at 10 A.M. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. Masonic Service by Orange Lodge # 143 at 7:00 P.M.
