Rev. Irvin ''Sherm'' Gagnon, 55, husband of Diane (Cronauer) Gagnon passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at MidState Medical Center. He was born Jan. 8, 1949 in Fort Kent, Maine, a son of the late Conrad and Albina (Charette) Gagnon. He graduated from Assumption College, Worcester, Mass. He was ordained by the Augustinians of the Assumptionists in 1977 and he was received into the Episcopal Church in 1993. He was presently pursuing doctoral studies at Hartford Seminary. In his pastoral services Sherm ministered in New York City, Mexico City, Massachusetts, Maryland and Connecticut. Sherm was a devoted and loving father, husband and pastor and will be greatly missed. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Bethany Gagnon of Meriden, three sons, Nathaniel, Anthony and Christopher Gagnon, all of Meriden; six brothers, Joel Voisine of Houlton, Maine, Carl Gagnon of Sidney, Maine, Garry Gagnon of Wallingford, Glenn Gagnon of Lincoln, Maine and Kevin Gagnon of Bristol; four sisters, Jennie Quellette of Houlton, Maine, Beverly Hebert of Fort Kent, Maine, Glenda Venable of Dover, Del., and Lisa Porter of Germantown, MD. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ Church Cathedral, 35 Chestnut St., Springfield, Mass., at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 31. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call Friday at All Saints Episcopal Church, 201 West Main St., Meriden from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. There will be a prayer service at 8:00 pm.
