Irvin E. May, Sr, age 95, of Hamden, passed away in Plantsville on May, 8, 2012. Irvin was the husband of the late Florence Badale May. Born in Canaan, New Hampshire on April 15, 1917 he was the son of the late Albert & Lillian Wescott May. He is survived by his daughter Judy May Lushinks & her husband Jay of Hamden; his son Irvin E. May, Jr, of Hamden; grandchildren Kristine Desroches, Karyn Fryer, John Lushinks, Michael & David May, Lori Courchesne and Danielle D'Onfro and his great grandchildren Grace & Jay Desroches, Matthew & Kaylie Fryer, Sarah Courchesne and Emily D'Onfro. Irvin was a machinist, employed many years at the Bullard Company in Bridgeport before he retired in 1976. Irvin's family would like to thank the Staff of the Alzheimers Resource Center in Plantsville for his care and compassion in his time of need. Friends may visit with his family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Thursday from 8:00 to 9:30 AM and may attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in the Church of the Ascension, 1040 Dunbar Hill Rd., Hamden. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
