James E.
Bourbeau
May 1, 1940 – December 28, 2021
James Edward Bourbeau, 81, of Hamden, passed away peacefully at his home on December 28, 2021 with his family by his side after a brief illness. He was born in Springfield, MA on May 1, 1940 to the late Albert and Simonne (Joubert) Bourbeau. Jim was a very proud Marine, serving 6 years from 1958-1964. Jim worked for the CT Department of Motor Vehicles for over 25 years in various roles. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Gloria (Bergami) Bourbeau; and his daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Kevin Brumleve of Cheshire, Denise and Charles Caballero of San Diego, CA, and Lori and Peter Cuticelli of Wallingford. He was especially proud of his five grandchildren: Raymond, Gregory and Colleen Brumleve, and Olivia and Sydney Cuticelli. He leaves his siblings, Annette Rogers, of Branford, Michele Bourbeau, of Chicopee, MA, Daniel Bourbeau, of Southwick, MA and Michelle Ann Davis of Chicopee, MA. He was predeceased by his sister, Ann Theroux, brother-in-law, Ronald Rogers, and sister-in-law, Deborah Bourbeau. In addition to his love for antique cars and motorcycles, he was known as a jack of all trades. He was always available to anyone who needed something repaired. He was the perfect example of selflessness, assisting at any time of day or night. Jim enjoyed traveling with his family to his timeshare in Aruba, visiting Disney, cruising and exploring Europe. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge #25, American Legion Post 76 and the Marine Corps League.
