James G. Montano, Jr.

James G. Montano, Jr., 78, of Cheshire, husband of the late Evelyn I. Donath Montano, passed away at the Bradley Memorial Hospital on October 26, 2026. He was born in New Haven on September 21, 1948, son of the late James G. Montano, Sr. and Catherine Seal Montano. James is survived by his son, Matthew Montano and his wife, Allison Montano, and grandson, Otto. He is predeceased by his sister, Barbara Jean Montano. Jim served as a Real Estate Property Manager and worked as a Security Guard at Masonicare. He was actively involved in the Masonic community, serving as Master of Wooster Lodge #79 in New Haven and as a member of Mystic Chapter #20 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Cheshire. He was also a member of Mt. Carmel Congregational Church in Hamden.

Friends are invited to visit with James’s family on Friday, October 30, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. A Masonic O.E.S. Ceremony will take place during the visitation. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 31st at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
