In Branford, March 12, 2004. Jean Jackson Doerr of 885 Indian Hill Rd., Orange. Wife of Richard L. Doerr. Mother of Douglas A. Doerr of Oakland, Ca. Born in Denver, Co. , she was the daughter of the late William G. and Adah Yager Jackson of Gibson County, Indiana. Jean attended Evansville University, Indiana University and graduated from The University of Buffalo in New York State. While living in New York State , she was active in the League of Women Voters and was instrumental in the development of the Niagara County Girl Scout Council. Moving to Connecticut 44 years ago, she became associated with the Connecticut Trails Girl Scout Council and served on the Executive Staff and as a Camp Director. Jean cataloged the James M. Barrie Manuscript Collection housed in the Beineke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University. Jean became a staff member and volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of South Central Connecticut and was an active member of the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) in the Greater New Haven area. She was a member of Quota International of New Haven. A Memorial Service will be held at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN on Saturday, March 20th at 2 P.M.
