Obituary

On Nov. 4, Jean Platt Kottage, 69, a resident of Old Hyde Rd., Weston since 2003, formerly of Prospect Court, Hamden, passed away. She was the wife of the late James P. Kottage, mother of Linda DiGangi of Cheshire, Kathleen Musto of Glastonbury and Steven Kottage of Weston, with whom she resided, sister-in-law of William and Grace Kottage of Killingworth, CT and the late Alexander Kottage, she is also survived by 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kottage was born in New Haven, Jan. 6, 1935 daughter of the late Arthur J. and Ethel Brandon Platt. She was a graduate of Bryant University, recently celebrating her 50th Alumnus anniversary. Mrs. Kottage was employed as an executive assistant for the Timex Corp. in Middlebury until her retirement in 1995. She was a parishioner of St. Rita Church. More than her accomplishments and contributions she will be most remembered by her family and friends for her sincere caring and kindness. Friends and relatives are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Tues., Nov. 9 in St. Rita Church, 1620 Whitney Ave., Hamden at 10 a.m. Burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 2969 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT 06518-2556 or to the Hole in the Wall Gang Fund, 555 Long Wharf Dr., New Haven, CT 06511. Arrangements under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
