Jean A. Vitale, age 78, of Meriden, passed away November 7, 2016 at the Regency House in Wallingford. Born in New Haven on September 11, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Ernest & Theresa (Labanca) Pommer. Jean is survived by her daughter Theresa Paolella & her husband Robert of Wallingford, her sons, John Vitale & his wife Donna of Hamden and Steven & Stanley Vitale both of Wallingford; grandchildren Whitney Vitale, Megan McGouldrick, Kyle Paolella, Cody Paolella, Samantha Vitale & John Vitale Jr; 3 great grandchildren and her sister in-law Eileen Pommer of Hamden. She was predeceased by her brother Ernest 'Skip' Pommer. Jean was a resident of Hamden most of her life. She was employed by Southern New England Telephone Co. for many years before her retirement and was a member of the American Telephone Pioneers. Friends may visit with her family on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden prior to her Funeral Service that will begin at 11:00 AM.
