Jeanette K. Murdock, age 90, of Morrissey Manor, 18 Bayshore Drive in West Haven, formerly of Northford, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2009 with her family by her side at her daughter's home in Hamden. Jeanette was born in New Haven, CT on March 30, 1918, daughter of Adrien and Mamie (Wandelear) Vets. Sister of William Vets. Mother and mother-in-law of David Murdock (Terry Moreshead), William Murdock (Dolores), and Jeanette Murdock (Peter Johnson) and Ruth Ramsted. Grandmother of David Murdock, Jr. (Patricia), Thomas Murdock (Lynn), Cathy Barboza (Michael), Ann-Marie Doyle (Patrick), Laurie Ellis (David) and Debra Doyle (Mark). Also, survived by 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. Dear friend of Sophie Losaw, Frank LaVelle, Dotty Grande, Judy (Ron) Giaquinto and very special feline friend Miss Lily. 'Adopted mother of' Regina DeCato and Paul Richardson (Patty). She was predeceased by sisters Mary Warner and Rose LeFever, brother Adrian (Sonny) Vets and great grandson Ariel Crespo. Jeanette was a former parishioner of St. Andrews in Northford and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a founding member of the Lady's Auxiliary, Company 3 Firehouse. She volunteered for more than 10 years at the Morrissey Manor lunch room. She was an avid gardener and a friend to all who met her. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all. The family wishes to thank Drs. Kumo and Lucky Fernando, Dr. Ronald D'Andrea, the staff at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, Whitney Manor and Connecticut Hospice for their excellent care and support.
