Jeffrey R. Goldman, age 57, of North Haven, passed away on August 7, 2015. Born in New Haven on July 31, 1958. He was a son of Patricia Goldman McGalliard of Cheshire and the late Sidney R. Goldman. Jeff is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Papa & her husband Kenneth of Hamden and Susan Nisson & her husband Michael of Wallingford; his brother Edward Goldman & his wife Jennifer of Cheshire; step-father David McGalliard of Cheshire; several nieces & nephews and 4 great nieces & nephews. Jeffrey was an employee for many years of US Surgical / Covidien / Medtronic Corps in North Haven. Jeff enjoyed music, attending dances with his many friends, and working with his colleagues at Covidien. He spent many summers having fun at the High Lane Club, riding his bicycle, going to the beach and Vermont, and spending time with family and neighborhood friends from Vista Road. Jeff was an active participant in the Special Olympics, having received many medals in swimming competitions, running, and walking events. Jeff was very close to his family, especially his Mom, and shared many happy memories with staff and friends at New Samaritan Community Residences and HART United. Friends may visit with his family at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and may attend his Graveside Service at 11:00 AM on Thursday in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Goldman Memorial Fund, c/o HART United, 72 Washington Avenue, North Haven, CT 06473. The Goldman Memorial Fund was established in memory of Jeff's father, Sidney, for the benefit and comfort of New Samaritan and HART residents with developmental disabilities.
