Jeffrey B. Mangles

Jeffrey B. Mangles, age 72, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026 at Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. Born in New Haven on June 13, 1954, he was the son of the late Joseph O. Mangles and Blanche (Norton) Mangles. Jeffrey is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Lorna J. (Lombardo) Mangles; his daughter, Allison Mangles and her husband Neal Schindler of Wallingford; and his sons, Eric Mangles and his wife Sherene of Brentwood, NY and Jason Mangles of North Haven. He also leaves to cherish his memory his granddaughters, Lana, Amy, Amaya, and Ajala. Jeffrey was a 1972 graduate of West Haven High School and moved to North Haven in 1983. He was an HVAC technician and a former tool & die maker before retiring early to be home with his young children. He was very active with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts with his sons and was also a longtime participant in the Habitat for Humanity Sleeping Giant Build Chili Cook Off. Jeffrey was a founding member and the treasurer of the Nutmeg Treasure Hunters for many decades. He enjoyed metal detecting, was a talented woodworker, and an aspiring chef. Jeffrey will be remembered for his humor, his quick wit and knowledge that could rival that of any Jeopardy! champ, and most of all, his love for his family.

Jeffrey’s family will receive relatives and friends at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Monday, July 27, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A prayer service will begin at noon, followed by procession to All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
