Obituary

John M. Keaney, a dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle, and a proud member of the law enforcement community passed away on November 13, 2025 at the age of fifty.

John dedicated 27 years of his life to serving and protecting the public with honor, integrity, and courage as a Federal Agent in the Office of the Inspector General. His commitment to duty was unwavering, a quality that defined both his professional and personal life.

In September 2001, John selflessly answered the call for help at Ground Zero in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. He worked tirelessly to bring closure to countless families and support fellow first responders. This sacrifice was a testament to his character and will never be forgotten.

Beyond his law enforcement career and brave service, John will be remembered for his warmth, kind heart, enthusiasm for life, and his desire to help anyone in need. He was a true gentleman who took a genuine interest in others, making them feel valued, worthy, and important.

John devoted his life to his family, who were truly his whole world. He was a loving husband for his wife Ann Marie. As a father he was a constant source of support, wisdom, and unconditional love. John was fiercely proud of Connor, Jack, William, Bianca, and Marielena, always wanting the very best for them. He truly cherished all the time they spent together.

To his niece Hope, John was more than an uncle. He was a father figure and a source of unwavering love and care who showed what it meant to be generous and compassionate.

John was a man with strong faith. Throughout his life, he often turned to, and found hope and solace in, God's love and mercy. We are confident and comforted that he has found eternal rest and perpetual light will shine upon him always.

John, you will be deeply missed; your spirit will live forever in our hearts. We love you so much.

John is survived by his wife Ann Marie, his children Connor, Jack, William, Bianca, and Marielena. He is also survived by his niece Hope Garrett and her husband Benjamin; his sister Stephanie Keaney and her partner Brian Rochette; his brother James Keaney and his wife Jennifer, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his parents, James and Kathryn Keaney, and his mother-in-law Bianca Devivo.
