John P. Keenan, Sr, age 75, of West Haven, passed away on February 10, 2015. Born in New Haven on November 15, 1939, he was a son of the late Frank & Lucy McGowan Keenan. John is survived by his wife Marie A. Cassella Keenan; his daughters, Kathryn Keenan of West Haven & Maureen Adhi Keenan of VT; his sons, John P. Keenan, Jr of New Haven & Terrence Keenan & his wife Jerilynn of Meriden; his sister Alice Hughes of Poughkeepsie, NY; brothers Francis Keenan of Northford, Edward Keenan of Branford & Michael Keenan of Derby. John is also survived by several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Barbara McPartland, Kathryn Friend, Rita Prete & Mary Keenan and his brother Robert Keenan. John was a retired Pipefitter working for the Local Union, he also was formerly employed by Southern Connecticut Gas Co, Pratt & Whitney and the Cuno Co. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Galveston & the USS Iowa. Friends are invited to attend his Graveside Service with Military Honors on Wednesday, Feb. 25th, at 11:00 AM in the State of Connecticut Veteran's Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale New Haven, 20 York Street, New Haven, CT 06510.
