John M. '' Jack '' Eckle John M. ''Jack'' Eckle, 81, of 465 Continental Dr., Durham, N.C. formerly of West Haven died Sunday at the Durham Regional Hospital, in Durham, N.C. Survived by his wife, Anne Jervis Eckle, a daughter, Dayl Fillmore Scherich of Houston, TX, a son, Gregory Law of Carpinteria, CA, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr Eckle was born in New Haven, Feb. 7, 1920, son of the late John and Eva Louise Marsh Eckle. He was a insurance underwriter for the former Reliance Insurance Co., in Philadelphia, PA, prior to his retirement. Mr Eckle served in the U.S. Army in WW II and Korea retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Durham, NC. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service, Thursday, January 3. 2002 at 2:00 pm at Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven.
