John Michael Semonich, Jr., 79, of Rocky Hill, passed away at Hartford Hospital on March 26th after a short illness. Born on September 16, 1938 in Blakely, PA to the late John M. & Johanna Luchansky Semonich, Sr. After proudly serving his country for three years as a US Marine, John transferred to the Marine Air Reserve. After retiring from Data Products of New England as a supervisor, he was able to hone in on his bowling skills. He was a member of several different bowling leagues over the years and could be found at the bowling alley four or five nights a week. He was also a Yankees fan and enjoyed watching their games. John will be remembered by his children and their spouses, Jo-Ann & Kurt Swanson of Wethersfield, Debora Semonich & Russell Bacon of Shelton, Michael & Lynette Semonich of Torrington, Richard Koenig of Winsted, and John Semonich of Bethlehem, PA; and grandchildren, Michael, Tyler, Emma, Connor, Anya, Richard, Douglas, Stacy, John, Timothy, Ryan, Emily, & Matthew. He was predeceased by his sisters, Leona Craw and Theresa Mills. Friends are invited to visit with John's family at BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave, Meriden on Monday, April 2nd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service celebrating his life will take place on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by Burial with Military Honors in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
