Jose T. Calvo, age 90, passed away January 10, 2024 at Bel Air Manor in Newington, CT. Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on September 17, 1933, he was a son of the late Marciela Torres. Jose is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Audrey A. (O'Brien) Calvo; his son Joseph Calvo of Newington; daughters Sonia Torres, Judy Torres, and Angel Torres, all of Puerto Rico, and Tammie Morrison of New Hampshire; grandchildren Jason and Dionna Calvo, Adam and Aaron Kulo, both of New Hampshire; great-grandchildren Gabriel Calvo, Mya and Ryan Kulo; brothers Jorge Rosa, Eddie Torres, and Sergio Salas, and his sister Mary Alonzo. Jose had been a resident of Meriden since 1957. He worked for the Operating Engineers Union Local 478 for many years, He started his employment there as a laborer and retired as a heavy equipment operator.
Friends may visit with Jose's family on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett – Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. His burial will be at a later date in Puerto Rico.
