Obituary

Meriden - Joseph Raymond Gostkowski, 83, formerly of 104 Gale Ave., died Sat., May 22, 2004 at Miller Memorial Community. He was the husband of the late Althea Zimmerman Gostkowski. He was born in Cliffside Park, NJ, a son of the late Anthony and Anna Lynch Gostkowski. He grew up in South Hampton, L.I. and worked as a buffer at Insilco until his retirement. He won the Norwich Invitational Golf Tournament in 1956 and was a member of the Silver City Men's Golf Club and he won the Meriden City Golf Championship seven times. He is survived by three daughters, MaryBeth Gostkowski of Meriden, Sharon Lynn Gostkowski of Meriden, Pamela and her husband, William Cloutier of Wallingford, two sons, Joseph Thomas Gostkowski of Cromwell, Mark William Gostkowski of Meriden, four grandchildren, Rachel Gostkowski of Farmington, Sarah Gostkowski of Cromwell, Nolan Cloutier and Caden Cloutier both of Wallingford. He was predeceased by a brother William Gostkowski and two sisters, Phyllis Marcincuk and Irene Gostkowski. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 28 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Meriden. The Rev. David Brinkley will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Rabe Scholarship Fund, c/o St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450, or to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
