Obituary

Joseph Klimas, 93, of Hamden, passed away June 19, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born in New Haven November 5, 1920, a son of the late Frank and Theophile Tiskeviciute Klimas, and had resided in Hamden before moving to North Branford. He was employed at Federal Paperboard of New Haven and Marlin Firearms Co. He also was a member of the Knights of Lithuania Council #50, New Haven, and St. Casimer's Church. Joseph enjoyed boating and fishing. He is survived by a niece, Helen Hanley, of Wallingford, and was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Kauneckis, Nellie Mickus, and Helen Maculaitis. His family would like to thank the staff at Whitney Manor for their loving compassionate care for Joseph. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN Tuesday morning, June 24, at 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Stephen's Church, Ridge Rd., Hamden at 11 am. Friends may visit with his family on Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 am. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be sent to St. Stephen's Church, 400 Ridge Rd., Hamden, CT 06517.
