Obituary

Joseph E. Lane, Sr. 64, husband of Carole Fortin Lane of Farview Ave. passed away March 15, 2003. He was born in New Haven, a son of the late Joseph E. and Lillian Saars Lane and a was veteran of the US Navy. He was a resident of East Haven since 1965. Mr. Lane had been a meat cutter at the former Klarides Supermarket in Derby and later retired from Genelco Industrial Supply Co. He most recently was a delivery driver for NCS Pharmacy of Cheshire. Joseph was an umpire with the New Haven Little League, North Branford Umpires Assoc. and he umpired adult slow pitch softball and was a member of the male vocal group the ''Barnstormers''. Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters, Dotty Owens, Darlene Suarez, Marlene Gogliettino all of East Haven, Joanne DeVoe of West Haven and a son, Joseph E. Lane, Jr. of East Haven, brothers, Myles Lane, Sr., David Lane, Sr., both of Lexington, KY and Laurence Lane of Wayne, PA and 8 grandsons. Funeral service Friday, March 21 at 9:30 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Burial in East Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the North Branford Little League, P.O. Box 213, North Branford, CT 06471.
