Joseph Pari, age 85, passed away Feb. 2, 2009 at his home on Whitney Ave. in Hamden. Joe was the husband of the late Phyllis Ceccarelli Pari. Born in New Haven on May 7, 1923 he was a son of the late Domenic and Jennie Voccio Parillo. Joe is the father of Phyllis M. Pari, father in-law of Rodney Neubauer, grandfather of Joseph and Andrew Neubauer and the late Michael Neubauer, all of Hamden; brother of Andrew Parillo of North Haven and the late William Parillo, Louis Parillo, Mary Polverari, Carmel Boyd and Rose Austin. Joe also leaves behind many cherished nieces & nephews. Joe along with his wife Phyllis owned and operated the Joseph Pari Auction Gallery in Hamden for many years. He was a member of the New England Auctioneers Association, the Antique Appraisal Association of America, the National Auctioneers Association, the National Association of Dealers in Antiques, the New Haven Country Club and he was a member of the Town of Hamden Bi-centennial Commission. Because of his knowledge of antiques Joe lectured many times at Quinnipiac College. He was a member and past president of the Hamden-North Haven Kiwanis Club, the Hamden Chamber of Commerce and the Hamden Rotary Club where he was also a recipient of a Paul Harris Award for his involvement in many community projects. Joe also was a WWII Army Veteran. Friends may visit with his family on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at BEECHER & BENNETT , 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden and may also attend a Mass celebrating his life at 12 noon on Friday in St. Joan of Arc Church, 450 West Todd St., Hamden.
