In New Haven, June 5, 2001, Joseph C. Sills, Sr., 90. of 7 Park Lane, Woodbridge, Husband of the late Lorraine Drake Sills. Father of Ranaye Penny Sills Hawley ,Joseph C.(Corky) Sills and Jerome C.(Ronny) Sills, all of Woodbridge. He was born in New Haven May 21, 1911, Son of the late Joseph Courtney and Eva Armstrong Sills. Predeceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Retired from the United Illuminating, Co. maintenance department after 24 years. Lived in Woodbridge all of his life. A member of the Dixwell Ave. United Church of Christ from 1933, serving as a Deacon, Secretary of the Usher Board, Finance Board and Property Committee. Funeral service will be held at the Dixwell Avenue United Church of Christ, 217 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, Friday June 8, at 11 A.M. Friends may call at the church Friday morning from 10 to 11 A.M. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery, Woodbridge.
