Josephine Sumpter Lawson, 87, of the Curtis Home, was called to glory on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. She was born January 5, 1922 in Wilmington , NC to the late John & Emma Williams. Mrs. Lawson leaves to cherish her memory, 6 children, Stanley L. Howell, Jr. & wife Melinda Howell, Altone Alvarez & Victor Howell, Montrose Howell, Deborah Lawson & Carolyn Williams & husband Robert Williams, two siblings Roy Faison & Geraldine Williams, 10 grandchildren & 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews & cousins & dear friend Delores Holley. She was predeceased by her husband Archie Lawson. A Funeral Service will be held at11:00am at the Faith Center Church , 22 Crown Street , Meriden , CT on Monday, June 1, 2009. Relatives and friends may call at the church 10am-11am. A private burial will follow the services. The Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave. Meriden is in charge of the arrangements.
