Josephine Ann Pinto, 80, of Hamden, passed away on April 6, 2010 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born in New Haven on March 30, 1930 to the late Guy and Margaret Diana. Josephine leaves her daughter Margaret Pinto of North Haven; grandchildren, Jonathan and Jessica Attruia of North Haven; brother, Dr. Guy Diana of Pottstown, PA and cousins Paul and Mary Ellen Diana of Easton. She leaves beloved nieces and nephews, Dr. Stephen Diana of Quaker Hill, Dr. Laura Braaksma of CA, John Diana of AZ and David Diana of MA and their families. Josephine also leaves special childhood friends, Phyllis Terrasi and Marie Sagnella of West Haven. Josephine grew up in Fair Haven and graduated from Commercial High School class of '47. She had been a bookkeeper for Cooley Chevrolet and worked at the Home Insurance Company. She retired as a legal secretary for a local law office. She participated in St. Rita's Prayer Shawl Ministry and also helped her daughter with the bulletin boards at church. Josephine also enjoyed knitting, reading, shopping, and animals, but most of all she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 10th at 11:15 a.m. at St. Rita's Church. Friends may visit with her family on Saturday morning at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
