In Mystic, CT, May 15, 2003, Josephine Persicano Turner, formerly of Bethany, wife of the late John McCullough Turner, Sr. Born in Brooklyn, NY, May 4, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Carmella Guera Persicano. She graduated from New York University in 1934 and volunteered as a Physical Education Instructor in the Bethany Elementary School for many years. A Bethany resident from 1946 - 1997, she was active on the Bethany Republican Town Committee and served on the Bethany Board of Education. Mrs. Turner was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Bethany. She is survived by her son, John ''Mac'' Turner, Jr. and his wife Patricia and two grandsons: Leland and Gregory Turner, all of North Stonington, a brother, Vincent Persicano of Houston, TX and a sister, Philomena Tardera of Point Lookout, NY. She was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth J. Turner. Funeral service at Christ Church, Bethany, on Monday, May 19th at 11 A.M. Arrangements with BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN.
