In Hamden, Feb. 1, 2013, Joyce Rice Grelle, 86, wife of 57 years of the late Richard Daniel Grelle, mother of Richard Royce Grelle of Euless, TX, Mary Jane Grelle-McGaffin of Hamden, and Frank Daniel Grelle of Meriden. Grandmother of Mary E. Mattheis and Kate M. Dwyer. Sister of the late Marjorie Canfield and Melvin W. Rice. Joyce was born in New Haven, April 15, 1926 a daughter of the late Frank D. and Mabel Key Rice and had lived in West Haven for 25 years before moving to Hamden in 1977. She was a former member of Our Lady of Victory Church and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Funeral service will be Monday Feb. 4, at BEECHER & BENNETT 2300 WHITNEY AVE. HAMDEN at 10 am.
