Karen Sugrue Joos, of Melbourne Beach, FL passed away peacefully on August 24, 2021 surrounded by her family, while on vacation in Keene, NH. She was the wife of the late Charles Joos.
Born in New Haven on March 24, 1944, she was the daughter of the late William P. and Madeline Guida Sugrue. She is survived by her children, Brian Lubiniecki of Torrington, CT and Lauren Perry of Shelter Cove, CA. She is also survived by grandchildren Matthew, Hannah, Madeline and Samuel Lubiniecki, Cassidy and Kyle Perry, and her great-granddaughter Hailey Blanchard. Karen is also survived by her sisters Lynne Martens and Nancy Barone, and life-long friends, Marie Hally Loceito, Mary Schmitz and Julie Brockleman.
Karen was an alumna of St. Francis School and St. Mary's High School in New Haven. She worked for SNET while residing in New Haven, and Southern Belle in Florida until her retirement.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 397 Ferry St., New Haven.
