Katherine M. Day, age 45, of New Haven, passed away on September 13, 2014 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Katherine was born in New Haven on January 31, 1969, a daughter of Laura Lawler Day of Wallingford and the late Vincent Day. Katherine is also survived by her daughter Alyssa Cordova and her companion Joseph Cordova; her sister Tasha Day and her nephew Joseph Diaz both of Wallingford. Katherine was a CNA working at local nursing homes. Friends may attend her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on September 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Church, 397 Ferry Street, New Haven. Interment will be private. Her family wishes that contributions in Katherine's memory may be made to benefit her daughter, Alyssa Cardova, and can be sent to her in care of the funeral home, Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden, CT 06518.
