Obituary

Kathleen Keefe, 68, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Roxbury, CT on May 1, 2024. She was born in New Haven, CT on March 4, 1956, a daughter of the late Daniel and Ann (Claydon) Keefe. Kathleen is survived by her siblings Susan Keefe Kelly and her husband George, Grace Huebscher and her husband Charles, Daniel Keefe Jr., Mary Keefe Hatch, Brendan Keefe and his wife Tiffany, her sisters-in-law Paula and Heidi Keefe, and more than two dozen nieces and nephews who meant the world to her. She was predeceased by her brothers Thomas, Peter, and John Keefe.
Kathleen was a titan in television and advertising. She graduated from Trinity Washington University and completed a year of study abroad at Oxford in England. Kathleen served as the VP of Sales for both Hearst Television and Post-Newsweek Stations. She was the first General Manager at WKMG-TV, the CBS station in Orlando, and General Sales Manager at Connecticut's WFSB-TV and Houston's KPRC-TV. More important than her extraordinary career in broadcasting was her absolute devotion to her extended family, many close friends, and especially her precious nieces and nephews. Kathleen was everyone's favorite aunt, and the matriarch of the Keefe family.
Friends are invited to visit with Kathleen's family on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Paul VI Parish-St. Rita Campus, 1620 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in her name may be made to Friends of the Roxbury Library, P.O. Box 74, Roxbury, CT 06783, www.minormemoriallibrary.org .
