Lauren M. Humpage

d. May 12, 2026

Meriden, CT

Lauren M. Humpage Jr., 88, of Meriden, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2026.

It is with heavy hearts, yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived, that we remember Lauren — a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother and faithful friend.

Lauren is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marie (Szczepanski) Humpage; his son, Corey Humpage and his wife Sue; his brother, Rick Humpage and his wife Sandy; his aunt Pearl Merola; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Lauren and Irma (Knop) Humpage, his sister Margot and his aunt Betty Calvi.

A lifelong resident of Meriden and graduate of Meriden High School, Lauren built a career marked by creativity, talent, and dedication. A gifted commercial artist, he founded his own business, Promotional Projects, and also shared his talents with Combustion Engineering and Horton Printing Company, where he spent much of his professional career.

A man of deep faith, Lauren was a founding member and deacon of White Oak Baptist Church in Cheshire. His kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path. Lauren was an inspiration to family, friends, and community alike.

Music was one of Lauren’s lifelong passions. A talented musician, he played bass, harmonica and sang vocals, delighting audiences with the timeless music of the 1920s, 30s, and 40s as a proud member of the Survivors Swing Band. Remarkably, he attended rehearsal with the band just weeks before his passing.

Another lifelong interest was antique automobiles. A collector and restorer, his pride and joy was his father-in-law’s 1968 Ford pick-up truck, for which he won many awards and proudly displayed at shows and in parades. Many weekends were spent attending car shows and sharing stories with fellow enthusiasts.

Above all, Lauren will be remembered as a thoughtful, loving, and generous man whose words and actions consistently uplifted others. His steady presence, compassionate heart, and joyful spirit enriched the lives of countless people. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

His family finds comfort in knowing that his legacy of faith, music, creativity, kindness, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. As we bid farewell to Lauren, we cherish the memories he leaves behind, thankful for the time we shared and the love and laughs he gave so freely. May he rest in peace, forever remembered and forever loved.

Calling hours for Lauren will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a brief service starting at 7 p.m. at Beecher and Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Avenue, Meriden, CT.
