WALLINGFORD - Leona E. Pelton, 78, of 22 Masonic Avenue, died Dec. 24, 2005 at the Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center. She was born in New Haven on Feb. 20, 1927, the daughter of the late Leo N. and Irma Harvey Pelton and had been employed as a bookkeeper for forty-five years at Seward and Monde. She was a member of Hamden Plains Methodist Church. She is survived by a niece, Beth Mongillo of Wallingford; a nephew, Scott Vowinkle of Dallas, TX; a greatniece, Lindsay Mongillo of Wallingford; and two greatnephews, Brandon and Ryan Vowinkle, both of Texas. She was predeceased by two sisters, her twin sister, Louise H. Pelton and Lois Vowinkle. The funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park in Hamden.
