In Southbury, Sunday March 16, 2008, surrounded by her loving family, Leona Ellen Steinle Sullivan, 88, of Southbury, formerly of North Haven. Wife of the late Daniel M. Sullivan, Mrs. Sullivan is survived by two daughters: Kerry Ellen Sullivan and Tara S. Rickart, both of Southbury; a granddaughter, Marcy Ellen Kelman and her husband Christopher of Monroe; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Josie Kelman and a sister Trudy Wildman and her husband George of Hamden. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sullivan was predeceased by a son, Leo D. Sullivan and a sister, Willetta Steinle. A daughter of the late Leo Edward and Ellen Ryan Steinle, she was born in Elkhart, IN on July 29, 1919. Mrs. Sullivan graduated from Teachers College in New Britain in 1940. She was a 2nd grade teacher at Ridge Road Elementary School in North Haven for many years. She was a parishoner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church when residing in North Haven. Mrs. Sullivan enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchild and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved to laugh. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Wed. March 19 at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden at 10 am.
