Leonard 'Len' Westwood, Jr., 87 of Westside Dr., husband of the late Marion Ferguson Westwood passed away Nov. 28, 2009 in CT Hospice after a brief illness. He was born in New Haven, October 16, 1922 a son of the late Leonard and Gertrude Fletcher Westwood and was a Hamden resident since 1930. Mr. Westwood served in the US Army during WW II in the Phillipines and Japan. After the war he was empoyed at Winchester Repeating Arms Co. as a gun assembler. From 1970 until his retirement in 1987, he worked at the Laurel View Country Club on the maintainence and grounds crew staff. Len was also a member of the Hamden B.P.O.E. #2224. He is survived by his son, Robert W. Westwood of Hamden, 2 sisters, Joyce Warren of Clinton, Marge Pageau of Hudson, FL, a brother, John Westwood of North Branford, 10 nieces and nephews and 10 grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Ronald Westwood. Funeral service will be Wednesday Dec. 2 at 11 am at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN.
