Obituary

Levon Harry Kassabian of 36 High St. Guilford and 11 Meriden Avenue, Meriden died Tuesday, April16 in Old Saybrook. He was born in Meriden on March 31, 1913, son of the late Jevon and Leonora (Klatt) Kassabian. He volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1941 and served with the 34th Division in the African campaign and suubsequently landing in Italy. He was a long time owner of Kassabian Furniture and Appliance in Meriden. In 1970 he chose to enter the wholesale pursuit and subsequently traveled extensively in the New England and Caribbean territories. He is survived by his wife Lareine Kassabian and their daughter Christina Schafer, her husband Douglas E. Schafer of Burke, VA. Grandchildren Alice Kay Schafer of Burke, VA. and Eric C. Schafer of Ventura, California. Services will be held at the BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW Funeral Home 48 Cook Ave. Meriden Saturday morning. Friends may call for visitation at 10;00 am followed by the service at 11;00am. Burial will be Private. Memorial Contributions may be sent to the Guilford Volunteer Fire Dept. Ambulance Fund, 31 Park St. Guilford, or to the Lutheran Church of Madison memorial fund, 9 Britton Lane, Madison, CT. 06443.
