Liliana (Pini) Pogmore, 90, passed away peacefully in the early morning of April 19, 2025, with loved ones by her side.
Born in St. Livrade, France on April 9, 1935, Liliana was the daughter of the late Alcide Pini and Giovannina Mantovani. In 1937, her family relocated to the small town of Berra, Italy, where she spent her early years. In 1949, at the age of fourteen and a half, she immigrated to the United States, beginning a new chapter in her life.
In 1961, Liliana married Joseph F. Pogmore, and together they shared over forty loving years of marriage.
Liliana dedicated many years of service to the Town of Hamden, working in the Office of the Assessor at Hamden Town Hall until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Connecticut Association of Assessors Officers and was known for her diligence, kindness, and quiet strength.
In addition to her parents, Liliana was predeceased by her brothers Adolpho Pini, Renzo Pini, and Ottorino Pini.
Liliana was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by her niece Paula Pini and nephew Paul Pini, as well as her other nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory: Anita Pini, Richard Pini, Carl Pini, Maria Pini, Albert Pini, George M. Sweeney, Eileen Sweeney, and sister-in-law Kathleen Sweeney. Liliana will be remembered with deep affection for her warmth, resilience, and the love she showed to all who knew her.
Funeral from Beecher & Bennett Funeral Service, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden on Friday, April 25th at 9:30 a.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may visit with Liliana's family Thursday evening, April 24th, from 5 to 8 p.m.
