Lilija Regina Strazinskis, 83, of Meriden, passed away on January 13, 2021 at Midstate Medical Center. She was born in Riga, Latvia on November 30, 1937, a daughter of the late Konstantin Strazinskis and Elizabeth Strazinskis Johnson. She is survived by her sister Silvija Colavito of Middletown, and step-brother Sven Johnson and his wife Neysa of Jewett City. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her stepfather V. Christian Johnson and brother-in-law Anthony Colavito. After graduating from Meriden High School, Lilija went on to work for Meriden Trust Company for over 40 years until her retirement. She was a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Meriden. She was also a devoted member of VASA Order of America, District #1, Northern Lodge #1, where she held positions as past Grand Lodge Deputy, District Master, and Auditor. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the caring staff at both Midstate Medical Center and Hartford Healthcare Home Hospice for the care they provided Lilija.
A funeral service celebrating Lilija's life will be held on Monday, January 18 at 11 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden. Friends may visit with her family at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. before the service. Interment will be held in Gethsemane Cemetery.
