Lois Philippi
Stover
March 7, 1925 – April 2, 2025
Lois Philippi Stover, 100, of North Haven, passed away at Connecticut Hospice on April 2, 2025. Born in Meriden March 7, 1925 to the late William Henry and Edna Meyer Philippi, she attended Lovell School in New Haven, graduating in 1938, then subsequently attended Fair Haven Schools, and graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1942. She worked as an assistant chemist at Enthone, Inc. and belonged to the Metallurgical Society. Lois also worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, retiring in 1989. Lois married the late Frederick Stewart Stover on June 25, 1949. She was the mother of Carol Ann Cody, Stewart Peter Stover, and Dwight William Stover, grandmother of Emily Milazzo, Jonathan Stover, Carolyn and Justin Cody, and great-grandmother of Ella Milazzo, Matthew Milazzo, Rowan Stover, and Julian Stover. She was a founding member of the North Haven Garden Club and served as its first president in 1954; she loved plants and flowers. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Haven.
Friends may visit with Lois's family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Friday, April 11th from 5:00-7:00 p.m., and may attend her Funeral Service on Saturday, April 12th at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 292 Orange St., New Haven. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Contributions in Lois's memory may be made to the Oakwood Friends School, Trinity Lutheran Church, or the North Haven Garden Club.
