Lorraine Delmond Mooney died peacefully at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital on May 10, 2013 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Francis Mooney, Jr. She was born in New Haven on January 29, 1928 to the late Charles Leon Delmond and Irene Baussian Delmond. Lorraine is survived by one daughter, Patricia Mooney (Alan); one son, Kevin Francis Mooney (Joan); and five grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Sarah, Jamie, and Kristen Mooney of Wallingford and Jared Steinberg of Pittsburgh, PA. Also survived by her brother, Joseph Henry Provancher (Rose) of Florida; nieces Robin Delmond Wright (Richard) of Hamden and Pamella Provancher of Florida; nephew Richard Wright III of Hamden; and sister-in-law Martha Delmond of Hamden. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Frances Delmond; her sister Irene Provancher; and a nephew Mark Provancher. Lorraine worked for the State of Connecticut, DCF, for 21 years. She loved animals and traveling to France to visit her family. Her funeral procession will leave BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., Wednesday morning May 15 at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may visit with her family on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm.
