Obituary

Luba Dowling, 86, of Osborne Lane, Woodbridge, wife of the late Raymond T. Dowling passed away March 23, 2010 after a brief illness. She was born in Woodbridge, June 15, 1923, a daughter of the late Mefodie and Catherine Okrut Kozak and was a graduate of Hillhouse High School, University of Bridgeport (BSN), and Fairfield University (MA). Mrs. Dowling was a Nurse for 47 years, and was the operating room director for 40 years at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was a member of the Professional CT Nurse's Assoc., and a founding member of the Operating Room Nurse's Assoc. Mrs. Dowling was also a member of the Holy Transfiguration Church for 31 years, and was a former member of Three Saints Orthodox Church of Ansonia. She is survived by a niece, Nancy (David) Judd, 2 nephews, Paul (Beth) Kozak, and David Kozak, and 3 great nephews Drew, Chase, and Colin Kozak. She was predeceased by her brother, Peter Kozak. The family would like to express a special thank you to Natasha Tankova for her loving care. Funeral service will be Friday, March 26, 2010 at 10 AM at the Holy Transfiguration Church, 285 Alden Ave., New Haven. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 PM at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Panikhida Service at 7:30 PM. Interment in Three Saints Cemetery, Derby.
