Lucille Francis McSherry, 85, of Hamden, wife of the late Thomas McSherry, Sr. passed away on April 8, 2009. She was born in New Haven on March 5, 1924 to the late Frances and Muriel Murphy Doherty.She leaves her daughters, Geri McSherry of Northford, Eileen Davis and her husband Richard of Madison, Maureen Ellis and her husband Robert of Simsbury, and her son Joe McSherry of Hamden. Grandchildren, Michael, Kathy, Chris, Ryan, Kelsey, Dennis, Alyssa, and Ashley. Siblings, Rita Sullivan, and Patricia MacGregor both of Hamden and Jerry Doherty of Wallingford. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two children, Kathleen McSherry and Thomas McSherry, Jr. and siblings, Audrey Burke and James Doherty.A life long resident of Hamden, Lucille raised her six children before working in the cafeteria at Hamden High School for 20 years. When she wasn't sitting in the sun soaking up the warm rays, she was spending quality time with her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy and she loved going to their various sporting events. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden, Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
