Mabel L. Day Ward of Danvers, MA, passed away at the age of 94 on Friday, March 11, 2016. She was born in New Haven, CT on July 8, 1921 and was a long time resident of Hamden where she graduated from Hamden High School. Mae was married to Harry J. Day who died at the age of 59 and many years later was remarried briefly to Arthur Ward of Lynn, MA who also passed away. Mae is survived by her children, Richard Day and his wife Elaine of Enfield, NH, Russell Day and his wife Randy of Tequesta Fl., Patricia Day Cummings and husband Dick from Rowley, MA, and Lynda Day McCue and husband Marty of Derry, NH. Mae also leaves behind a stepdaughter Jennifer and husband Alden of So. Hamilton, MA. and stepson Noel and wife Janis of Amherst, NH. She has 11 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren with one more on the way. Mae was very active in the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Woodbridge, CT and later West Church in Peabody, MA where she sang in the choir. She had a long career at Yale Medical School where she was secretary to the Chief of the Oncology department. Two Memorial Services are planned. The first Service will be Friday at the West Church, 27 Johnson Street, Peabody, MA 01960 at 5:30 PM and the second Service will be Saturday at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 33 Center Road, Woodbridge CT. 06525 at 3:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to either church or to Care Dimensions 75 Sylvan Street Suite B-102 Danvers, Ma 01923.
