Obituary

Lieutenant Colonel USAR, Retired. Born February 19,1945, the daughter of Ava A. and the late John H. Banks.Graduated from Hamden High Class of 1963 and from Boston Univ. School of Nursing and was inducted into the International Nursing Honor Society (Simga Theta Tau) and was a member of the Phi Beta Sorority. She served 5 years active duty in the Army Nurse Corps in Vietnam, where she was awarded the Bronze Star. She was a member of the Retired Officer Association and the VFW Post 9965. She worked at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Denver and West Haven for 23 years. She is survived by a brother, John A Banks of Hamilton, Ohio and a sister, Rosemarie B. Olsen of Guilford. At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford,CT 06405. BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden has been entrusted with the arrangements.
