Margaret Louise Cole Hawes, formerly of 200 Oak St., West Haven, passed away March 31, 2009 at the Jewish Home for the Aged, New Haven. She was the wife of the late Wilbur A. Hawes. Mrs. Hawes was born in New Haven on July 11, 1918, a daughter of the late Joshua and Violet Cole. She is survived by her sons David (Barbara) Hawes and William (Carmella) Hawes, her daughter Diane (David) Moody, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mable Lye and Violet Satterwaite. She was predeceased by one sister, Gwendolyn Collins and two brothers, Joshua John and William Cole.The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to everyone at the Jewish Home for the Aged for the excellent care, kindness, and support given to both their mother and family. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10:30 am at BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR, 410 CAMPBELL AVE., WEST HAVEN. Pastor David DeVries of Trinity Baptist Church of Fairfield will conduct the service. Friends may call prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
