Margaret Durkin Starrs, wife of the late Arthur F. Starrs, Sr. of 40 years, died on Friday, May 16, 2008 at St. Raphael's Hospital after a beautiful life of 92+ years. She was born in New York City in 1916, the eldest of Catherine Marren and John Durkin's seven children. For the past 31 years she lived in Milford and most recently, Hamden, Connecticut. She is survived by her six loving children: Margaret Guiry-Kilray, John P. Starrs, Eileen Kelly, Arthur F. Starrs, Jr., William D. Starrs, Kathleen Maguire, their spouses and families including 17 cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial in memory of her wonderful life will be celebrated on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden; burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Relatives and friends may call at the Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden on Thursday (TODAY) May 22 from 2pm to 5 and 7 to 9pm.
