Margaret Ann Talmadge, age 76, of Hamden, passed away on March 20, 2012 in St. Raphael Hospital. Margaret was the wife of Burton A. Talmadge, Sr. Born in Detroit, Michigan on July 13, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Earl D. & Susan Veronica Dufina Chamberlain. Margaret was a teacher at Our Lady of Lord Convent in Detroit before moving to Hamden in 1968. After her move she taught at the Hamden/New Haven Cooperative School. Most important to Margaret and her family was the time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren. Besides her husband she is survived by her sons, Burton (Chip) Talmadge, Jr & his wife Kimberley of Hamden, Thomas A. Talmadge & his wife Chaoum of Hamden and Richard S. Talmadge & his wife Sharon of White Plains NY; her grandchildren, Brandon, Mason, Kaden, Nathaniel, Kathryn & Elizabeth Talmadge and her sister Florence Flinkman of Michigan. Margaret was predeceased by her siblings, Helen Jean Gray, Elaine Busher, Susan Peters, Dorothy Shinever and Robert & Earl Chamberlain. Friends may visit with her family on Sunday, March 25th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden and may attend her funeral service that will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 AM.
