Maria F. Olivieri, age 96, of Cheshire, formerly of the New Haven area, passed away on October 25, 2012. Maria is the wife of Luigi Olivieri of New Britain; sister of Anthony & his wife Frances Massaro of Branford, Michael Massaro of New Haven, Theresa Florio of Hamden & Rose Savo of Wallingford. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Mary Irene Massaro, Victoria Guarino & Carmel Forto and a brother Joseph Massaro. Maria was born Jan. 4, 1916 in New Haven, a daughter of the late Guisseppi and Pasqualina Giannotti Massaro. She had worked at the former New Haven Casket Company as an interior designer and installer. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed many trips abroad with her husband. Funeral from Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden, Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at 9:30 AM followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:00 AM. Friends may also visit with her family at the funeral home Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. Entombment in All Saints Mausoleum.
