Lonardo
March 3, 1931 – April 28, 2021
Marie Martucci Lonardo, 90, beloved and devoted wife of Dominick Lonardo for 67 years entered into rest April 28, 2021. She was born on March 3, 1931, the daughter of the late Frank and Nancy Cairella Martucci, and resided in Hamden most of her life. Marie re-entered the workforce as a bookkeeper at several local businesses and retired in 1992. She was an active member of Christ the Bread of Life Parish (Blessed Sacrament Church), serving as a Eucharistic Minister and on various committees. She was also active as a Cub Scout Den Mother, an officer in the Church Street School PTA, a former member of the Blessed Sacrament Church Ladies League, the Columbiettes, and a current member of the Hamden Women's Club. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, loved cooking, baking, entertaining and traveling with her husband. Travel included Alaska, Italy, Canada, Maine, California, Aruba, Cancun, Bermuda and vacationing in Florida. She is survived by her devoted daughter Marie of Hamden, sons Dominic of Arlington, Virginia, John of Hamden, James of Hamden, Richard and daughter-in-law Barbara-Jean of Milford, and her loving granddaughter Anna Marie. Marie will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched. She was a very humble person and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and easy laughter. While Marie will be missed, her strong presence in our lives remains an everlasting gift.
Friends are invited to visit with Marie's family on Monday, May 3 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. in BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the Bread of Life, Blessed Sacrament Church at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
