Marie Ann Semenza, 78, wife of 55 years of Robert A. Semenza, Sr. passed away Jan. 22, 2013. She was born in New Rochelle, NY, July 8, 1934 a daughter of the late Luigi and Pasqualina Vaccaro. After growing up in New Rochelle, she lived in Stamford for 30 years before moving to Hamden in 1994. She and her husband also reside in Saratoga Springs, NY. Marie was an active member of the Rosary Altar Society at St. Cecelia Church of Stamford and enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and shopping. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Barbara (Tim) Welch of Plymouth, MA, Karen Rankins of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Robert (Susan) Semenza, Jr. of Hamden. Grandmother of Meghan Welch, Maryanne (Jefferey) Watt, Amanda and Robert Scala. She was predeceased by her brothers John, Angelo, Nicholas, and Frank Vaccaro, and her sister Ann Larli. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Friday morning Jan. 25, at 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 11 a.m. Friends may visit with her family Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
